City of Winter Haven and the Lakeland Magic announce AdventHealth as official naming rights partner of the multipurpose facility.

Lakeland, Fla. (December 9, 2019)  – City of Winter Haven and the Lakeland Magic have announced a multi-year agreement with AdventHealth to become the naming rights partner of the Winter Haven Chain of Lakes Fieldhouse. Through the partnership, the new 83,300 square foot facility will become the AdventHealth Fieldhouse.

“The momentum leading up to the opening of this iconic facility is creating great excitement in Winter Haven. The AdventHealth Fieldhouse and Conference Center benefits many different entities including our residents, our visitors and our business community.  The City’s partnership with AdventHealth and the Lakeland Magic creates a combination for unlimited success. It’s a win for everyone involved.” said Winter Haven Mayor Brad Dantzler.

The AdventHealth Fieldhouse will serve as the practice facility for the Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, and will host Lakeland Magic home practices and several team related events.

AdventHealth has been a partner of the Magic organization for 30 years. The goal for both the Magic and AdventHealth is to help high-level NBA athletes, youth sports players and weekend-warrior types become healthier and more well-rounded and efficient performers. The two continue to work together to develop a world-class sports performance and medical model, creating the best course of action, optimizing performance and translating those learnings to the broader community.

"We are thrilled to broaden our longstanding partnership with AdventHealth," said Lakeland Magic Managing Partner and Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins. "The AdventHealth Fieldhouse furthers our shared commitment to health and wellness for our athletes and fans; building healthier, more active and engaged communities across all of Central Florida."

With a prime location along U.S. Route 17 and Cypress Gardens Boulevard, the fieldhouse will serve as a primary gateway to the city and operate as a regional destination for hosting major events right here in Polk County. The multi-use gymnasium space with second-floor observation area is the perfect facility for large sports competitions (basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, cheerleading, etc.) and other similar convention-related events.  Polk County Sports Marketing will bring over 40 events per year to the AdventHealth Fieldhouse beginning in December.

After acquiring two hospitals in Polk County earlier this year, AdventHealth was an ideal fit to become the naming rights partner of the area’s largest multi-use facility.

“Our commitment to whole person care - body, mind and spirit - extends beyond the walls of our hospitals and into the communities we serve,” said Daryl Tol, president and CEO of AdventHealth’s Central Florida Division. “With AdventHealth Heart of Florida and AdventHealth Lake Wales joining our family earlier this year, meeting the needs of our growing footprint in Polk County and partnering with the Magic on the Fieldhouse is a natural extension of that commitment. It’s always exciting to find new ways to work together and encourage healthy lifestyles across our region.”

The official grand opening of the AdventHealth Fieldhouse is scheduled for Saturday, January 4, 2020.
