LAKELAND MAGIC ANNOUNCES 2017-18 TRAINING CAMP ROSTER

Training camp for the Lakeland Magic, the NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, will begin on Tuesday, October 24. The training camp roster is composed of 15 players, including two Two-Way Contract Players, two Affiliate Players, three Returning Rights Players, four Local Tryout Players, and four players from the 2017 NBA G League Draft.
On Saturday, September 23, the Lakeland Magic hosted Open Tryouts for their inaugural season. As a result, four players have been selected as Local Tryout Players for this season. Those players are Kevin Foster (Fresno State ’13), Xavier Gibson (Florida State ’12), TyQuane Goard (West Virginia ’16), and Andre Malone (Rhode Island ’13). These players have been invited to training camp for the opportunity to earn a roster spot.
Practices will be held at Polk State College and the RP Funding Center from October 24 through October 30. There will be an Open Practice event on October 26 at 6:00p.m. at the RP Funding Center where fans can see the Lakeland Magic on the court for the first time.
Lakeland plays one preseason game on October 30 against the Memphis Hustle at the RP Funding Center. The preseason game is a closed event, available only to season ticket members. The Magic play their first regular season game on November 4 at 7:00 p.m. in Iowa against the Wolves. The game will be broadcast on Facebook Live. The home schedule tips off on November 10 at 7:00 p.m. against the Canton Charge at RP Funding Center.
